And He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it. St. Matthew 26:27

Might I say, the Eternal Son of God appeareth to hath desired to grant encouragement to His Disciples before His earthly Departure during the Last Supper. In this, the Son of God principally granted the apostles the most blessed promises of what would be awaiting them in eternity as they would be eternally reunited with Christ.

And so, I may say, it was perhaps in part Christ’s reward to them for their loyalty and service unto Him.
