And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. Luke 1:28
Most magnificently, as we abide in the presence of the Eternal Spirit of God reading the Gospels of God, there becometh a tenderness in our hearts witnessing in word the relationship betwixt our most Holy Jesus Christ of Nazareth and His mother, the virgin, Mary.
Perhaps the historical passages in the Holy Bible of the blessed mother, Mary, lovingly swaddling her firstborn Son, the Son of the Highest, in garments giveth us an inclination of the heart of the young girl chosen by God, the Father, to raise Him.
In speaking of the First Christmas, let us be reminded for a moment of when the most brave virgin, Mary, was laboring for Christ’s Birth. I might suppose faithful Mary held most tight to her heart the words spake to her, which are inscripturated in the sacred Scriptures. For instance, the Holy Angel sent from God, the Father, spake to the blessed Mary that the holy thing which shall be Born of her shall be called the Son of God.
In wonderment of our most Holy Father, who was faithful to bringeth the virgin, Mary, to the Birth of Christ, in His strength and glory, it is Him who causeth the word of the Savior’s Birth to be brought forth on that First Christmas Day over two thousand years ago. How might we be eternally grateful for the blessed mother of our Lord, a persecuted young girl, who delivered the humanity of the Son of God on Earth.

I suppose we shall now move on to Mary’s first glimpses of the glory upon the Babe’s countenance. Abiding in the manger, Mary might hath cuddled the Babe who would save the world, worshiping God, the Father. Might the Eternal Spirit of God have granted the mother of our Lord the blessedness of a maternal instinct to sing a hymn to the Babe at our Lord’s first blessed cry?
For might I say, as a most young mother, our Father, who is no respect of persons, granted a presence to honor Him even in cuddling. In this goodness of God, it caused me as a mother to sing the selfsame Psalm for many years. Might I hath learned this in the sacred Scriptures, reading about our foremother, Mary, the mother of our Savior, whose soul magnified the Blessed One?
Concluding now with today’s devotional honoring the virgin mother of our Lord and her admirable motherhood, let us turneth our attention for a moment to Luke, in Chapter 2. For in this chapter, it records a most astounding event that occurred with the Young Child Jesus when He was seemingly not able to be found for days by His sorrowful earthly parents.
How might you imagine what Mary pondered in her heart when the Young King of Glory, whose Kingdom hast no end, could not be found by Mary?
And so, this Christmas, as we continueth on with the honor in the sacred Scriptures declaring that Mary was blessed among women, might we purpose in our hearts to keep young children destinies nearest to our hearts in prayer? Further in our abiding time with the Spirit of God, might we pray to learn of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the Son, in reading of Mary’s motherhood.
Eternal One, today I giveth Thee thanks for the Holy Bible, wherefore teaches me the eternal truth of Jesus Christ. I thank Thee for the Son of God’s miraculous Birth through the blessed virgin, Mary. And for this holy time of Christmas to celebrate His Birth. In Christ’ Name, Amen.
