He is Risen!

He is not here: for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. Matthew 28:6

I most cherish the rich memories I have as a young girl on Easter Sunday. The family traditions that were passed on to me by my beloved great-grandmother, grandmother and mother were richly woven together in love and remain etched on my heart.

How precious were the days when our family gathered together to celebrate the Risen Lord’s glorious Resurrection: wearing Easter hats and carrying colorful baskets! I cherish the memories of the mornings spent with my extended family and neighborhood friends before we went to Sunday School. Our church home held decades of our family’s worship unto thy Lord Jesus; the church with the small steeple in Brooklyn.

The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. John 20:1

Ofttimes, when I read the Book of John, Chapter 20 and the story of Mary Magdalene, I meditate on the love thy Lord servants had for Him. What were Mary thoughts as she traveled to visit the tomb of where Jesus Christ of Nazareth had lain? Her loyalty for our Lord would not end at His death on the Cross. When Mary discovered that our Beloved Lord Jesus was no longer in the tomb she wanted to find Him. But, Jesus was alive and suddenly appeared right before her. He had Risen!

As we prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior, I pray you will be encouraged in this season of Resurrection Power. Our Father who gave us breath and causes the clouds to pour out rain upon the Earth when it is full; will perfect what concerns us. The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob will answereth our prayers concerning this current Coronavirus crisis.
